The Hold Parkinson's

Visão geral

What does Parkinson’s Disease look like? Many people believe it to be just an old person’s disease, but the reality is that every day, 3 Australians under the age of 40 are diagnosed with the nerve disorder.
On World Parkinson’s Day, we and Parkinson’s New South Wales launched “The Hold” to challenge perceptions around the devastating disease, and build more empathy and awareness in hopes of spurring donations.
The film opens with a quiet but tense scene in which an elderly man is holding his daughter’s hands. The setup draws the viewer in by leaning on the misconception that Parkinson’s only affects the old, and confronts that false belief with an upsetting reality.
