Loving Avurudhu HSBC
Challenge: Avurudhu or the Sri Lankan New Year that falls in April is full of traditions. HSBC Sri Lanka is seen predominantly as an international bank and along with global guidelines, the typical Avurudhu feel would not fit the brand.
Insight: HSBC’s Target Audience still celebrates these traditions mainly for the benefit of the children and to make sure that these traditions are carried forward for years to come. Every new year you see them sharing pictures of their children dressed in “Avurudhu” attire and occasionally a comparison with the parents as kids right next to the new pics.
