Intern Spotlight Series: Tran Duong
This week’s Intern Spotlight Series features Tran Duong, a Production Intern at JWT Singapore.
What have you gained in your internship experience? — Every day at JWT is like an adventure with so many stories to be told. I have gained so much exposure to the advertising and production industry, learned so much from experts, and have done things beyond my imagination.
The one thing that I believe to be very unique for JWT and the ad industry is the fast pace. I’ve learned how to be flexible with changes, multitask, and think on my feet.
I’ll always be thankful for how much I’ve grown from my experience here at JWT and for the most awesome colleagues I could ever ask for.
Did you have any mentors during your time here at JWT Singapore? How did they help you grow? — Everyone in my team has been my mentors one way or another since I came to J. Walter Thompson as an intern three months ago. They are always willing to teach me new things and guide me along the way without spoon-feeding me. I have learned a lot from them and I’m very grateful for that.
What advertising lingo or buzzword do you most overuse? — PPM, which refers to Pre-Production Meetings.
Favorite moment — My favorite moment here at JWT was definitely one of our Lux shoots that I had a chance to take part in. The shoot lasted from 3pm to 1am and I didn’t feel as tired as I was excited to see the professionals at work. I did not have any prior production experience so the whole process was certainly very fascinating for me. Being able to observe and learn from how everyone’s professionalism and collaboration greatly expedited the process made it a highlight for me during my time here at JWT (not to mention being able to see the RED Dragon in action!)
This particular Lux project was one of the projects I was involved in from start to end, and I felt very lucky to be able to see it being developed and coming to real life from the original conceptualization.
Personal motto — To infinity and beyond!
