JWT Takes Home 11 Pencils at The D&AD Awards 2018

The D&AD Professional Awards are recognized globally as the advertising industry’s ultimate creative accolade, entered and attended by the best from around the world.  

At the awards ceremony, members join a vibrant global community, while creatives and clients are inspired by a world-class training program.  

This year, our network received a total of eleven Pencils: one Yellow, three Graphite and seven Wood.

JWT London’s “Ash to Art” campaign for the Glasgow School of Art earned the prestigious accolade, a Yellow Pencil in Glass, as well as one Graphite Pencil and two Wood Pencils.  

For this campaign, JWT London worked with the School, sending 25 world-famous artists each a piece of charcoal salvaged from the Mackintosh building fire. The idea was for the artists to use the charcoal to create new works of art from the ashes.

“The School for Justice,” developed by JWT Amsterdam to take underage girls in India out of prostitution and into prosecutors, earned a Graphite Pencil in Glass. JWT São Paulo’s “Don’t Blame my Clothes” also took home a Graphite Pencil in Press.

Earning one Wood Pencil each in the Digital Craft category were JWT Amsterdam’s “Pay with Views,”JWT Melbourne’s “Love Slays Hate Speech” and JWT Auckland’s “Yeah Nah.”  

JWT Paris’s “Human Search Engine – The Right Search” campaign earned two Wood Pencils in the Cyber category.
