Your Chair, Their Refuge CEAR
The Spanish Commission for Refugee Assistance, in collaboration with the agency, has created the campaign #TuSillaSuRefugio (#YourChairTheirRefuge). In which 60 personalities have each designed a chair as a symbol of the reception of refugees, which will be exhibited at CaixaForum Madrid until July 2.
The 60 personalized chairs will be auctioned at www.tusillasurefugio.org, with the collaboration of Catawiki, an online auction platform of unique articles, to support the work of the Spanish Commission in the reception of refugees in Spain.
#TuSillaSuRefugio (#YourChairTheirRefuge) is an initiative of the actress Inma Cuesta who, together with the Spanish Commission, has managed to involve more than 60 personalities from the world of art, culture, sports and journalism, each designing a chair that symbolizes the refugees in our country. People like Pedro Almodóvar, Alejandro Sanz, Belén Rueda, Paco León, Maribel Verdú, Iker Casillas, Mamen Mendizábal or Marina Anaya among many others have participated in the exhibition.
According to Inma Cuesta: "The purpose of this solidary exhibition is to give visibility to a problem that involves everyone, to awoken the awareness and responsibility that we have in trying to tear down the walls that separate us to become them into bridges that bring us closer."
Each of these chairs is directly related to the history of one refugee in Spain, with the aim of capturing the situation of thousands of people who are forced to leave their countries fleeing from war and persecution.
