The retail sector has changed dramatically in the last year since The Innovation Group launched their Frontier(less) Retail report in partnership with global retail bible Women’s Wear Daily (WWD). In their second report, Transcendent Retail, further explores how brands are becoming sentient and how commerce can happen anywhere, with no need for cash registers, staff or postal addresses.
As retailers adjust to a mobile-first world, technology is accelerating the pace of channel change. Consumers are entering an era of intuitive retail, where commerce is spoken and may soon be worn in clothing, or embedded into bodies. Transcendent Retail aims to help brands understand what the future of shopping in an immersive, mixed-reality era will mean for consumers.
