JWT and The NY Times Host Third Annual Women Focused Panel In Cannes
Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 22, JWT Company will co-host its third annual women’s panel in Cannes alongside The New York Times.
Set for Wednesday, June 22 at 11:00am CEST, the invite-only panel, dubbed Female Capital, marks the third year in a row where JWT will use Cannes’s global platform as a sounding board for women, one of the world’s greatest emerging markets and the consumer demographic at the top of the ad industry’s creative and growth agendas.
The panel will include an introduction by Tamara Ingram, JWT's Chief Executive Officer, and will be moderated by Meredith Kopit Levien, Chief Revenue Officer of The New York Times.
The panel which offers a diverse medley of speakers from a range of sectors includes:
- Madeline Di Nonno – CEO, The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media
- Claudia Gonzalez – Chief of Public Advocacy, UNICEF & Marketing Professor, University of Geneva
- Bodo Hoenen – Social Entrepreneur & Founder of Dev4x
- Rachel Pashley – Group Planning Head, JWT London
- Franchesca Ramsey – The Nightly Show writer & contributor, actress, comedian & video blogger
The panel is an expansion of JWT's Female Tribes program, which kicked off in February with “Her Story,” a four-part documentary series co-produced by JWT Entertainment for BBC World News. The second pillar of the program, a two-year-long project launched in May, features an in-house study with original research and insight about the global female consumer.
JWT first tackled the topic of female leadership and female empowerment in the 2014 “Women Aren’t Creative?” panel discussion at The Girls’ Lounge in Cannes. The panel marked the launch of the Helen Lansdowne Resor (HLR) Scholarship, an international opportunity that offers five female students the opportunity to win a scholarship up to $10,000, an internship and a mentorship at a JWT office.
