19 Pencil Wins At The One Show 2017

Last week, The One Show announced the Pencil Winners for the best creative work from the around the world.  

Creative teams from across our network walked away with a total of nineteen Pencils: four Gold, six Silver, and nine Bronze across multiple categories

JWT Amsterdam continued to pick up awards for “The Next Rembrandt,” which earned one Gold Pencil in Social Media and another in Print & Outdoor; three Silver Pencils in Cross-Platform, Interactive, and Print & Outdoor, and two Bronze Pencils in Direct Marketing and Interactive.

JWT Bangkok’s “Touchable Ink,” an effort designed to present an affordable alternative to Braille printers, took home a Gold Pencil in Design and a Silver Pencil in Direct Marketing.

We received our fourth Gold Pencil in the Social Media category for JWT New York’s “Unsafety Check,” which allows Black Americans to mark themselves unsafe. Created with Black Lives Matter, “Unsafety Check” puts a powerful twist on Facebook’s “Safety Check” feature that allows users near a major crisis to let their friends know that they’re safe. 

“Lifesaver Backpack” earned two Silver Pencils, one for Design and the other for Intellectual Property. In Colombia, where there are hundreds of rivers that kids in poor, remote communities travel on every day to get to school, drowning is within the top five causes of death among children. The Lifesaver Backpack was designed by JWT Colombia to help prevent children from drowning while crossing the unpredictable rivers.

JWT Brazil’s “Donate the Bars” work received three Bronze Pencils across the Social Media, Direct Marketing, and Film categories and JWT London’s work for WWF, “Tiger In Suburbia” received a Bronze Pencil in the Moving Image Craft category. 

JWT New York’s “Tribeca Film ReActor,”rounded out our Bronze wins with three Pencils across the Interactive, Responsive Environments, and Design categories.
