Send Love this Christmas An Post
Christmas can be a difficult time for many people and most of us can relate to not being able to spend it with our loved ones, be it at home in Ireland or elsewhere around the world.
Being Irish folk, we are an incredibly close knit community of people culturally, and those feelings of love, support and belonging are hugely important to us, even more so at Christmas than at any other time of the year. That’s why we created An Post’s new Christmas campaign ‘Send Love This Christmas’ which reinforces the brands determination to demonstrate that nowhere is out of reach for them or their customers, and to deliver feelings of connectivity as well as love and support, no matter where your loved ones are.
Rather than running typical Christmas ads, we wanted to do something different.
We wanted to dedicate the campaign to the Irish people, at home and abroad, who can’t be with their loved ones this festive season. We moved away from traditional casting methods, and reached out to real Irish people, giving them the opportunity to tell their stories and send a special Christmas message to their nearest and dearest, by surprising them on TV.
The campaign runs across TV, VOD, radio, digital, and An Post’s social channels using the hashtag #SendLove. It features the real life stories of expat Alison Griffin who currently lives in Vietnam, Leading Seaman Katie O’Leary of the Irish Naval Service who is stationed in Cork and the recently wedded Conor Biddle and Sean Smyth who will be away on holidays this Christmas.
