Here, we value difference.
Different points of view. Different perspectives. Different ideas. And we work to make sure that every voice is heard. We look for the best people from around the world who are fierce, hungry and will work passionately, with generosity to advance the best ideas on behalf of our clients. We aim to be a magnet for collaborators, curious thinkers and courageous inventors.
We’re looking for talent that fully reflects our pioneering spirit, divergent thinkers who can help attack creative challenges from all sides. We believe in fully representing the communities we live and work in, everywhere in the world. And our goal is nothing short of becoming the recognized leader in attracting the most diverse workforce.
With the active involvement of our current employees and scholarship award winners, we are deepening our partnerships, developing new hiring tools that focus on potential rather than traditional credentials and offering early entry into an advertising career. And we’re expanding the impact of all the programs we already have in place. Join us.
The international Helen Lansdowne Resor (HLR) Scholarship supports and promotes talented female creative advertising students from around the world in honor of the industry’s first female copywriter, Helen Lansdowne Resor.
Dating back to the early 1900s, Helen was an industry pioneer, credited with sparking many innovative ideas including the first use of celebrity testimonial campaigns with her use of endorsements from socialites, European royalty and actresses in her work for Pond’s Cold Cream. Helen Lansdowne Resor’s creative capacity helped to push the barriers and shatter traditional formulas of advertising.
Helen was a working mother and ardent feminist who championed the advancement of women’s rights both inside and outside of the agency. During her tenure, J. Walter Thompson was known as the "Women’s Agency," where bright young talented females were given opportunities that had been traditionally offered exclusively to men.
Each year, the HLR Scholarship seeks to award five female creative students scholarships up to $10,000. In addition, each recipient will receive a paid summer internship at a J. Walter Thompson office in her respective region, an offer of a J. Walter Thompson mentor, and "first look" placement consideration upon graduation.
The program will run through 2020.
