Bernd studied languages and economics in Giessen, Germany. At his first job with Interbrand, he did brand name development and evaluation for Toshiba, HP, BP and Boehringer. 1992 he joined Saatchi & Saatchi and met the “brothers” personally. Apart from being called “Mr. Samsung” – after his first client – Bernd was also responsible for P&G, VISA, Schweppes, Moet and O2. At Y&R he led the Global Milka/KF account gaining a lot of insights on eating habits of chocolate. At TMC - for P&G, Gillette and Braun he became aware of Shopper Marketing, which really fascinates him. In 2006 he joined Publicis as CSD leading the Nestlé Baby Food and Water brands, Purina, Herta sausages – he is a Veggie – and Bongrain cheese. At Saatchi & Saatchi X, he was MD for the clients P&G, Frankfurt Airport, Cereal Partners, a.t.u, Starbucks, T-Mobile and Novartis. As a real 360-communication person Bernd moved in 2010 to JWT to become a MD responsible for the Shopper Marketing and Brand Activation department.
