J. Walter Thompson Atlanta is looking for a Senior Financial Manager.
The Senior Finance Manager will be a key contributor in designing, implementing, and managing the budget process. She/he must be adept at tapping diverse resources of information, anticipating challenges, and engaging & partnering with key business leaders to gather necessary data to create a sound financial plan. She/he will be responsible for monthly performance and analysis that will compare actuals to forecast with detailed commentary/story telling of what transpired. This role will manage a team of 4 and be responsible for the day to day workload that flows through the team. The Senior Finance Manager will lead corporate reporting and make sure deadlines are met.
Responsibilities to include:
●Provide overall support to the finance team daily, including reporting, forecasts, budgets & analyses. Give direction to team where necessary to ensure work is completed timely.
●Establish processes to proactively identify financial risks to the business and creatively resolve risk.
●Perform financial analysis of actual and future results, by gathering and synthesizing current data, understanding and modeling future trends, and developing presentations that compare data, highlight risk and focuses on qualitative and quantitative issues.
●Oversee accounts payable and expense report processing and payments for agency spending.
●Mentor team members with a focus on development and retention.
●Management of monthly financial performance reporting that includes insightful variance commentary compared to actuals vs budget and actuals vs last year. Preparation of flash reporting for both J. Walter Thompson Atlanta and Mindshare Joint Venture.
●Ensure month end journal entries are accurately prepared and posted to the general ledger. Research and analyze each account in the P&L prior to closing the month to ensure data properly flowed to the correct ledger.
●Assist with salary, headcount and freelancer monthly reconciliations. Comparison of actuals by person vs budget, last month and prior year with commentary of variances. Work with HR when new hires start to provide position numbers timely. Prepare corporate reporting for salary accounts.
●Lead special projects and be able to determine who on the team is best to complete each assignment accurately and timely. Actively monitor workload of our team to ensure we are maximizing utilization on each person and that the work is spread out fairly.
●Support Director of Agency Finance with monthly SOX and with any audits we have during the year. Help prepare audit.
●Prepare schedules for quarterly budget meetings/provide templates from cartesis for quarterly meetings and be able to tell the story of how our financials have changed from prior periods and why the changes are in line with the needs of the business.
●Work closely with facilities to assure co-location is managed properly and that all tenants are comfortable in this space. Responsible for managing intercompany rent invoicing to each operating company and for updating templates and pricing of the overall co-location rent analysis.
●Manage IT/AV inventory and responsible for asset regulation/reconciliations.
