Black Friday usually means lots of “running” to get the discounts and deals you want. Gatorade has absolutely nothing to do with Black Friday, but everything to do with running. It wanted to taka advantage of the Black Friday media frenzy, a day that is usually insignificant for the brand, but form a different perspective.
We created Black Friday Real Runners, a digital promotion that gave runners the opportunity to win gear they really prize, such as treadmills, stationary bikes and exercise equipment. To participate, they just had to share their running workout on Facebook.
The effort’s social media posts were among the ones with the best engagement for Gatorade Puerto Rico’s Facebook page. We joined the conversation on a day when people don’t usually have Gatorade in their top of mind.
