Brent Choi, the former Chief Creative Officer at Cundari, will be joining the JWT Canada team in a new position as Chief Creative and Integration Officer. The announcement came today, with enthusiasm from Canada and North American leadership about Brent’s new role in driving the creative vision and digital integration for Canada.
Known for his ability to inspire agency vision around talent and work, Brent will be key to creating top-notch integrated experiences and ideas with global impact for clients. Susan Kim-Kirkland, president and CEO, expressed excitement about the partnership and said, “His proven success in inspiring creative innovation is game-changing for us. Brent represents the next generation of transformational creative directors.”
And he is without a doubt transformational. He joined Cundari as Chief Creative Officer in 2009, and has been behind acclaimed work such as BMW (1M and M5). Under his leadership, he landed the agency a place on Strategy’s 2012 Agency of the Year and Digital Agency of the Year lists.
His other accomplishments over the years include Gold Cannes Lions, Gold CLIOs, a Fast Company Innovation by Design Award and inclusion in Ad Age’s Top 15 Ideas of 2012. More recently, Brent has been named on Strategy’s Campaign of the Year and won CMAs for his work.
In addition to news of Brent joining the JWT family, JWT Canada also announced that Martin Shewchuk, current Executive Creative Director of JWT Canada, will move into the role of Creative Chairman and will offer support and counsel to Brent.
Commenting on his new role, Brent said, “I’m thrilled to be joining the JWT team. They’ve had a long history of attracting the world’s top brands and producing some of Canada’s most memorable campaigns. I’m also looking forward to working side by side with Susan. Her passion and desire to accomplish great things is inspiring. Working closely with the team, my goal is to build upon JWT’s past successes, while bringing my experiences and perspective to the table. January 31st can’t come soon enough.”
We’ll be counting down the days to the 31st as well. Welcome aboard, Brent! We look forward to covering all the exciting new work from JWT Canada in the coming months and years.
