On 21 January 2014, three young interns at JWT South Africa - Tal Halili, Katherine Andrews and Thandeka Kunene - won a global competition held by the BBC in partnership with the YCN.
The challenge was to devise a creative campaign for the BBC’s ‘World News Service’ and make it appealing to youths outside the United Kingdom. (more…)

In 2005, Anes Al-Rayes joined JWT Kuwait as a copywriter, and today he is celebrating his recent promotion to the agency’s Executive Creative Director.
Al-Rayes will report to JWT MEA’s Chief Creative Officer, Ramsey Naja, who had this to say of his colleague’s promotion: “JWT has always been dedicated to identifying local talent, developing their expertise and where possible, promoting from within. Late last year, Australian children’s charity The Smith Family launched its search for a lead creative agency.
The Smith Family’s CEO Dr. Lisa O’Brien explains, “We were looking for an agency with proven and successful advertising and direct marketing experience, together with a capable team to fulfill and capacity to support our extensive and integrated needs. Danish beer brand Carlsberg called for agencies to submit creative ideas that would leverage its role as sponsor for popular football leagues Liverpool, Arsenal, and the Barclays Premier League to turn football aficionados in Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong into Carlsberg fans.
With JWT Malaysia leading the pitch, JWT agencies in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia united to answer Carlsberg’s call. (more…)

Celebrations are in full swing after JWT made waves at this year's MENA Cristal Festival, dominating top honors and winning 5 Grand Cristal (Grand Prix), 11 Cristal (Gold), 11 Sapphire (Silver) and 13 Emeralds (Bronze) awards.
